Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, compassionate daily care to residents and support their activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Monitor resident condition and communicate changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care and observations accurately and timely using facility procedures
• Support safe transfers and ambulation following proper body mechanics and care plans
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment that prioritizes resident comfort and quality of life
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Comfortable assisting with resident mobility and providing hands-on personal care
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living and basic elder care
• Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
• Basic documentation and observational reporting skills
• Ability to work well in a team and follow care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
