Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, compassionate daily care to residents and support their activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility while preserving dignity
- Monitor resident condition and communicate changes to nursing staff promptly
- Document care and observations accurately and timely using facility procedures
- Support safe transfers and ambulation following proper body mechanics and care plans
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment that prioritizes resident comfort and quality of life
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Comfortable assisting with resident mobility and providing hands-on personal care
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living and basic elder care
- Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
- Basic documentation and observational reporting skills
- Ability to work well in a team and follow care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
