Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg patient care on a 30-bed unit
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized nursing plans
• Monitor and document patient status, treatments, and responses clearly and timely
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate safe discharges and ongoing care
• Respond rapidly and effectively to patient changes and emergencies
• Follow established BLS (required) and ACLS (preferred) protocols to ensure patient safety
• Work efficiently at a 5-6:1 patient ratio while maintaining excellent patient-centered care
• Contribute positively to unit culture — this is a dedicated education unit, but travel nurses will focus on direct patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (Med/Surg or experience at a level 1 trauma or mid-to-large hospital)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Med/Surg patient populations and demonstrated patient-care skills
• Comfort managing a 5-6:1 ratio on a 30-bed unit
• Positive attitude, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills — timely and reliable

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg fundamentals and hands-on patient care
• Trauma exposure or experience in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely at a 5-6:1 ratio
• Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management, adaptability, and professional bedside manner
