Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and electronic records
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Communicate clearly with nurses, residents and families to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control policies
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or eligible to obtain certification in North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrated compassion, reliability and strong communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in basic patient care and ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Basic charting and documentation skills; willingness to learn facility EHR
