Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit during night shifts
• Assess and monitor patient condition, responding promptly to changes and escalating when needed
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in line with ACLS/BLS protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record
• Support safe infection-control practices, including verification of TB screening status
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring teammates and communicating effectively during handoffs

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Med/Surg nursing experience preferred with comfort working 12-hour night shifts
• Proof of a negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start date required
• Willingness to work night shifts — recruiters, please only submit candidates who want nights

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure
• Active CA RN license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med/surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV care proficiency
• Comfort with acute-care documentation and electronic health records
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response abilities (ACLS readiness)
• Effective communication and teamwork during night shift operations
• Familiarity with infection control practices and TB screening protocols
