Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiographic exams to help clinicians make accurate diagnoses
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring images meet department standards
• Document exam findings and chart thoroughly using Cerner to keep patient records precise
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to deliver coordinated patient care
• Provide compassionate patient prep, positioning, and education to reduce anxiety and improve outcomes
• Adhere to safety, infection control and departmental protocols at all times
• Participate in orientation and continuing education to maintain competency and certifications

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential required
• BLS (AHA) current and valid
• Minimum of 2 years of sonography/echocardiography experience
• Experience documenting in Cerner or similar electronic health record
• Ability to meet licensing/submission requirements (License to Submit: Yes)
• Comfort working in an acute care environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic echocardiography techniques and image acquisition
• Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and transducers
• Clinical documentation skills using Cerner
• Strong patient communication and bedside manner
• Experience in acute care workflows and protocols
• Attention to detail and ability to produce reproducible, high-quality studies
