Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- T-CNA certification if applicable (listed as a primary skill)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
- Professional, reliable, and patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with residents and clinical staff
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe resident handling
- Compassionate bedside manner and attention to resident dignity
