Location: Orono, ME

Shift Type: Days vary, 2:45 PM - 10:30 PM (Evening/Night shift)

Hours per Week: 39

Candidate Pay Rate: $23 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity
Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition, escalating concerns promptly
Support nursing team with tasks such as transfers and basic treatments
Communicate clearly with residents, families and interdisciplinary team members
Document care accurately and maintain a safe, clean environment

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
Active authorization to work in Maine and ability to pass facility background checks
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but caring attitude is essential

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living and safe patient handling
Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
Infection prevention and basic hygiene practices
Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
Teamwork and effective communication with nurses and support staff
Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
