Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support bathing, dressing, mobility and toileting needs with dignity and respect
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the care team
- Assist nursing staff with daily tasks and follow care plans accurately
- Create comforting interactions and build trusting relationships with residents
- Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with families and the interdisciplinary care team
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — Maine certification preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Comfortable working a long day shift (6:30 AM - 6:45 PM) and providing hands-on care
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements (TB, immunizations) as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
- Basic vital signs assessment and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to chart accurately and follow established care plans
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and de-escalation techniques
- Teamwork, dependability, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
