Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, compassionate patient care during overnight hours, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support nursing staff with vital signs, patient monitoring, and timely documentation to keep care coordinated
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, prioritizing patient comfort and fall prevention
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and follow infection control procedures
- Respond to patient needs with empathy and professionalism during the night shift
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- Comfortable working overnight 12+ hour shifts
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of patient care (lifting, turning, assisting with mobility)
- Must meet facility onboarding requirements (health screenings, background check) — standard for patient-facing roles
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Basic vital signs and patient observation
- Accurate documentation and charting
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective teamwork
