Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the facility’s record system
- Support mealtime and personal hygiene needs with respect and professionalism
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of Maine (required)
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care
- Reliable transportation and ability to work the scheduled evening shift
- Clear background check and compliance with facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in activities of daily living assistance and safe resident handling
- Good communication and teamwork — you’ll be a key part of the care team
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy long-term care environment
