Location: Orono, ME

Shift Type: Days not specified, 6:30 AM - 6:45 PM (Day shift, includes 30-minute meal break)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Take and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes promptly
Support the nursing team with specimen collection, documentation, and routine tasks
Ensure resident comfort and safety through attentive observation and timely interventions
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Maintain accurate, timely charting to support continuity of care

Qualifications

Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
Current BLS/CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire
Comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility; basic lifting ability
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not mandatory

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of vital signs, basic clinical observations, and infection control
Skill in safe resident transfers, positioning, and personal care
Ability to document accurately and follow care plans
Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
Time management skills to balance direct care and charting responsibilities
