Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes promptly
- Support the nursing team with specimen collection, documentation, and routine tasks
- Ensure resident comfort and safety through attentive observation and timely interventions
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate, timely charting to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility; basic lifting ability
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not mandatory
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of vital signs, basic clinical observations, and infection control
- Skill in safe resident transfers, positioning, and personal care
- Ability to document accurately and follow care plans
- Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management skills to balance direct care and charting responsibilities
