Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support patient mobility and safe transfers while promoting independence
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Help ensure a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful, person-centered communication
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Valid state-required credentials and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfortable providing direct patient care and assisting with mobility and ADLs
- Willingness to complete background checks and health screenings as part of onboarding
- Reliable, compassionate, team-oriented attitude; previous long-term care or clinical experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong basic patient care skills and knowledge of ADLs
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with nursing staff
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
- Awareness of infection prevention practices and resident safety principles
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy care setting
