Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams with accuracy and care
- Position patients compassionately and ensure comfort during imaging
- Optimize image quality and follow established imaging protocols
- Maintain equipment quality control and report any issues promptly
- Accurately document procedures and maintain patient records
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to support timely diagnoses
- Provide clear patient education about the exam and follow-up as needed
Qualifications
- Current state mammography license or certification if required in Michigan
- ARRT Mammography certification or equivalent credential preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
- Clinical experience in mammography or breast imaging preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first approach
- Ability to follow safety, infection control, and HIPAA procedures
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited mammography program
- Or equivalent education and clinical training in diagnostic imaging
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of breast anatomy and mammography positioning
- Experience with digital mammography systems and image archiving
- Attention to detail for high-quality diagnostic imaging
- Comfortable communicating with patients of diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and regulatory requirements
- Basic troubleshooting and equipment care skills
