Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Radiology program and ensure consistent, high-quality imaging services
- Train and mentor staff on PACS, digitized imaging workflows, and radiology best practices
- Develop, maintain, and enforce radiology policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards
- Manage the radiation protection monitoring program and ensure staff safety and compliance
- Coordinate radiology equipment maintenance, inspections, and quotes with vendors and administrators
- Lead quality assurance and quality control activities and prepare required reports
- Collaborate with clinic administrators, medical directors, and Finance to optimize revenue capture and chargemaster accuracy
- Supervise radiology staff, conduct timely evaluations, and ensure competency through training and assessments
- Troubleshoot radiology transcription issues and support smooth reporting workflows
- Perform radiologic exams within your competencies and support expansion of imaging services as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Registered Radiological Technologist (ARRT) — required
- Registered Mammographer preferred
- Registered Ultrasound Technologist preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Radiology Management and supervision
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Radiology Technologist
- PACS training required; experience with digitized imaging and MQSA requirements
- CT and MRI technologist experience preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and strong communication skills
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations related to radiology services
- Experience with PACS and digitized imaging workflows
- Familiarity with MQSA requirements and lead apron testing procedures
- Ability to work in multiple computer systems and document medical information clearly
- Skills in policy and procedure development, QA/QC, and equipment maintenance oversight
- Chargemaster familiarity and basic collaboration with Finance for revenue optimization
- Strong oral and written communication, multitasking, and team-building abilities
- Competence in staff training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation
