Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform initial triage and full assessments for patients of all ages, prioritizing care and patient flow
• Deliver telephone triage services with clear assessment and self-care or escalation guidance
• Administer medications and provide IV therapy, including initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation of IVs
• Carry out injections (IM, SQ, intradermal) and manage IV push and infusion therapies safely
• Document assessments, interventions, education and follow-up in the Electronic Medical Record accurately and promptly
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care, tracking outcomes and keeping providers informed
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe clinical environment, including stock and equipment upkeep
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in life-saving procedures as needed
• Support clinic quality improvement efforts and participate in ongoing team development
• Serve as vaccine coordinator or support vaccine operations when assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and eligible to take the NCLEX
• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hires must have applied for an Alaska license before start; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Minimum 2 years of general nursing experience, with at least 1 year in ambulatory or urgent care settings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Clinical Competency to be completed within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter
• High Risk Competency to be completed within 3 months of hire and annually
• Ability to perform life-saving procedures and maintain required annual competencies

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (diploma, ADN, or BSN)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and patient assessment skills with excellent clinical judgment
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and a variety of injection techniques
• Clear and accurate documentation and EMR/charting skills
• Solid knowledge of infection control and clinic safety practices
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities for diverse populations
• Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively under pressure
• Experience with referral coordination and care coordination processes
• Comfortable learning and training on various EMR systems
