Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the radiology program to ensure high-quality patient imaging services
- Track incoming radiology studies to ensure proper submission, reporting, and follow-up
- Provide PACS training and troubleshooting support for appropriate staff
- Maintain and create radiology policies and procedures that meet regulatory standards
- Manage radiation protection and equipment inspection programs, including lead apron testing
- Coordinate equipment quotes and work with clinic administrators and medical directors on quality initiatives
- Collaborate with Finance to maintain the radiology chargemaster and identify opportunities to improve operations
- Supervise radiology staff, perform timely evaluations, and ensure ongoing competency and training
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- ARRT (Registered Radiological Technologist) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Registered Mammographer preferred
- Registered Ultrasound Technologist preferred
- CT and MRI technologist experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in radiology management and supervision
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a radiology technologist
- Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years; manager competency within 3 months and every 3 years
- PACS training required
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with MQSA requirements and digitized imaging workflows
- Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations relevant to radiology services
- Experience with radiology quality assurance and quality control practices
- Ability to supervise and evaluate staff effectively and build a strong team environment
- Comfort working in multiple computer systems and documenting medical information clearly
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task
- Experience with radiology equipment maintenance and radiation protection monitoring
