Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the resident chart
- Follow infection control protocols to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Offer emotional support and engage residents in meaningful interaction and activities
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification recognized in New Mexico
- T-CNA or travel CNA experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar clinical setting preferred
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs, resident transfers, and basic patient care
- Comfortable taking and charting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe handling practices
- Familiarity with electronic charting/EMR or willingness to learn
- Strong observational skills and the ability to report changes clearly
- Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation techniques
