Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the resident chart
• Follow infection control protocols to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Offer emotional support and engage residents in meaningful interaction and activities

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification recognized in New Mexico
• T-CNA or travel CNA experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Prior experience in long-term care or similar clinical setting preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs, resident transfers, and basic patient care
• Comfortable taking and charting vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control and safe handling practices
• Familiarity with electronic charting/EMR or willingness to learn
• Strong observational skills and the ability to report changes clearly
• Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation techniques
