Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and with attention to safety
• Perform thorough assessments and document resident condition clearly in the chart
• Collaborate closely with RNs, therapists, and the care team to develop and follow care plans
• Support activities of daily living and promote resident independence whenever possible
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep everyone safe
• Communicate effectively with residents and families, serving as a patient advocate

Qualifications

• Current LPN license (able to work in ME or willing to obtain required state licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Comfortable with medication administration, documentation, and bedside nursing tasks
• A team-player attitude, reliability, and a positive, resident-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
• Medication administration and monitoring
• Charting and documentation in electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care setting
• Infection control practices and resident safety focus
• Compassionate bedside manner and resident advocacy
