Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to cardiac changes to keep patients safe
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care, including assessments and care planning
• Perform peripheral IV starts, dressing changes, and manage wound vacs with confidence
• Safely operate and troubleshoot Baxter IV pumps and other unit equipment
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Support and mentor colleagues when needed and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current RN license (appropriate state licensure required for assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with medical-surgical and/or telemetry care
• BLS certification (required)
• Comfortable with peripheral IV starts, dressing changes, wound vac management, and Baxter IV pumps
• Experience with Cerner PowerChart or other major EMRs preferred
• Charge nurse experience is a strong plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Strong medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and clinical judgment
• IV therapy skills including peripheral IV starts and pump management
• Wound care and dressing change proficiency, including wound vacs
• Effective communication and teamwork in a busy hospital setting
• Time management and ability to work autonomously on night shift
