Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Deliver direct nursing care for trauma, stroke, STEMI, and moderate sedation cases with confidence
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient response and safety
• Collaborate with physicians, medics, techs, and support staff to coordinate fast, efficient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Meditech with attention to detail
• Manage patient assignments in a 3:1 to 4:1 ratio while maintaining high standards of clinical judgment
• Participate in quality improvement and unit-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Comfort and experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI protocols, and moderate sedation
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• ACLS, TNCC, ENPC certifications preferred
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced emergency department environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and rapid assessment skills for emergency presentations
• Knowledge of trauma and stroke management and STEMI activation processes
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills during high-acuity situations
• Time management and prioritization to handle multiple patients safely
• Comfort delivering moderate sedation monitoring and related interventions
