Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality progressive care nursing to step-down and med-surg patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform specialized procedures including trach care, chest tube management, wound dressing changes, and ventilator support
• Manage cardiac drips and advanced cardiac monitoring to keep patients stable and safe
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and carry out individualized patient care plans
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Cerner experience is a plus) to ensure continuity and compliance
• Respond to changes in patient condition quickly and effectively using critical thinking and strong assessment skills
• Support unit flow and help onboard traveling staff to maintain a cohesive, patient-centered environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (required)
• Experience working with trachs and caring for stable ventilated patients (required)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Active RN license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure (state requirements apply)
• Previous Cerner experience preferred
• Comfort working in progressive care/step-down and med-surg environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Trach and ventilator care and management
• Chest tube care and wound dressing changes
• Cardiac drip management and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Progressive care (PCU) and med-surg best practices
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR workflows
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively on night shifts and during weekend rotations
