Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and instruments for a wide variety of surgical cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to coordinate efficient case flow
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Support patient and family education and provide compassionate perioperative support
• Adapt to variable schedules and float assignments while maintaining professional standards

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - active and in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Broad surgical knowledge across general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn and trauma
• Experience using Cerner for documentation
• Comfort with variable scheduling and on-call responsibilities
• Certifications: NA (no specific certifications required per unit)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and sterile technique
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties and instruments
• Cerner documentation proficiency
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR environments
• Ability to prioritize and manage 1:1 patient care when needed
• Adaptability to float to other departments and handle variable schedules
