Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures with care and precision to support accurate diagnoses
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and SPECT systems
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety and regulatory guidelines
- Monitor patients before, during and after procedures, ensuring comfort and clear communication
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to review images and optimize patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs and adhere to HIPAA and radiation safety protocols
- Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement of imaging workflows
Qualifications
- Certified or registry eligible as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT N) preferred
- State licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the assignment state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine or related radiology role
- Strong patient care skills and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Familiarity with radiation safety principles and proper handling of radiopharmaceuticals
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of nuclear medicine imaging techniques and protocols
- Proficiency operating gamma cameras, SPECT and related imaging equipment
- Understanding of radiopharmaceutical preparation and safety handling
- Comfortable with PACS, image processing and digital imaging workflows
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
