Roles & Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (CT, MRI, Ultrasound) accurately and efficiently to support round-the-clock patient care
• Provide timely reads for emergency, trauma, and inpatient studies in a busy trauma level I hospital
• Document findings clearly in EPIC and PowerScribe and manage studies through PACS
• Communicate critical results and collaborate with referring clinicians to ensure optimal patient management
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and departmental workflow optimization
• Support cross-coverage as part of a two-provider shift model to maintain consistent, reliable service

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
• Active, unrestricted Connecticut medical license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Proficiency with EPIC, PowerScribe, and PACS workflows
• Comfortable and experienced reading CT, MRI, and Ultrasound across adult and geriatric populations; neonates and adolescents included when applicable
• Ability to work in a high-volume, trauma level I setting and to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to complete credentialing process (estimated 90-120 days with completed applications)

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Diagnostic Radiology residency (required)
• Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty is a plus (if applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cross-sectional imaging interpretation skills (CT and MRI)
• Diagnostic ultrasound reading skills
• PACS management and image workflow expertise
• Experience with EPIC documentation and PowerScribe reporting
• Triage and prioritization for emergency/trauma imaging
• Clear, concise clinical communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid on-site/remote reading model
