Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality inpatient oncology nursing care during night shifts
• Safely prepare, administer, and monitor IV chemotherapy and manage potential reactions
• Document thoroughly and accurately using EPIC charting
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform timely assessments and intervene for acute changes in patient condition
• Educate patients and families about treatments, side effect management, and discharge planning
• Support Med/Surg units by floating as needed while maintaining oncology care standards
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to continuously improve care

Qualifications

• Current California RN license
• ONC/Chemo certification required
• Current BLS and ACLS recognition
• Demonstrated experience in inpatient acute oncology and IV chemotherapy administration
• EPIC charting experience
• Comfort with floating to Med/Surg units as staffing requires
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork skills

• Oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy safety
• Intravenous infusion therapy and chemotherapeutic agent handling
• EPIC electronic health record documentation
• Acute care assessment and monitoring
• ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
• Patient and family education around oncology treatments
• Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced inpatient setting
