Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple medical-surgical specialties
• Float confidently between units including telemetry, cardiology, orthopedics, surgery, neuro and oncology
• Perform and document vascular access procedures such as IV insertion and PICC/central line management
• Manage PCA/epidural pumps, wound VACs, feeding tubes and tracheostomy care with attention to safety
• Interpret telemetry and remote tele monitoring to identify and escalate changes in patient status
• Support patient mobility and safe transfers using lifts and gait belts while promoting independence
• Maintain accurate CEU documentation and compliance records during the assignment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (able to practice in Missouri or applicable compact licensure where allowed)
• Demonstrated skills in IV insertion and vascular access / central line management
• Experience with telemetry and remote tele interpretation
• Comfortable with PCA/epidural pumps, wound VACs, feeding tube and tracheostomy care
• Ability to float across med/surg, cardio, ortho, surgical, neuro and oncology units
• Willingness to work nurse-to-patient ratios that can be 1:6 and may go to 1:8 when needed
• Current CEU documentation as required by facility compliance processes

• Med/Surg and Telemetry fundamentals

• Tracheostomy care and CPAP/BiPAP familiarity
• Patient lifting, transfer techniques and safe use of lifts

• Strong communication and teamwork across diverse specialty units
