Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders in an inpatient acute care setting
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that make a measurable difference
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the allied health team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document assessments, progress, and discharge plans accurately using EPIC charting
• Educate patients and families to support safe transitions and ongoing recovery
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making

Qualifications

• Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) via ASHA
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (inpatient or acute care experience preferred)
• Valid state SLP license or ability to obtain licensure as required by the facility
• Proficiency with EPIC or equivalent electronic medical record systems
• Comfort collaborating in a fast-paced acute care environment and working one weekend per month

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in clinical assessment and treatment planning for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Experience with inpatient acute care workflows and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Strong documentation skills, specifically using EPIC
• Excellent patient and family education and communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively during 8-hour shifts
