Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
- Follow infection control policies and promote a clean, safe environment
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and the care team to deliver coordinated care
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Prior experience as a CNA or in long-term care is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility requirements
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to provide compassionate care
Education
- High school diploma or GED; valid CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
- Taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Infection control best practices
- Safe transfer and body mechanics
- Teamwork, time management and effective communication
