Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs regularly and deliver skilled nursing care per the physician‑authorized plan of care
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, responding to call lights and assisting with transfers
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with the care team to update and improve patient outcomes
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and in a timely manner, including follow-up on medication changes and clarifications
• Delegate appropriate tasks to patient care technicians while maintaining clinical oversight and ensuring quality care
• Maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations and facility policies to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys must indicate Active status) — must be active
• Minimum 2+ years Med‑Surg nursing experience (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Epic experience highly preferred
• Work history and Med‑Surg skills checklist current to 1 year (required)
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and medication safety
• Direct patient care for medical/surgical and orthopedic surgical patients
• Care plan evaluation and thoughtful revision in collaboration with the team
• Processing and executing physician orders accurately
• Delegation and supervision of patient care technicians
• Compliance with local, state and federal healthcare regulations
• Treatments, transfers and responding effectively to alarms
• Interpersonal communication and teamwork
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record
