Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe and stable
• Respond quickly as a member of Rapid Response/Code teams during emergencies
• Administer and manage IV therapy, including PICC lines and central line blood draws
• Manage complex post-operative and vascular surgery patients with strong clinical judgment
• Provide wound care and manage Wound Vac therapy for improved healing outcomes
• Care for patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), and non-invasive airway needs
• Support renal and dialysis-related care including pre/post hemodialysis management and CBI
• Manage medications including heparin, insulin protocols, PCA pumps, and blood product administration
• Perform skilled procedures such as phlebotomy, accessing ports, and feeding/colostomy care with attention to safety and comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory, PT, pharmacy, social work) to coordinate excellent patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Experience in MS/Telemetry or telemetry monitoring preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing high-acuity adult/geriatric care
• BLS certification preferred
• Flu vaccine required per facility (medical exemptions only) — COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Able to float to other units as needed; strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to complete a 36-hour orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid response and code team participation
• IV therapy, PICC line care, central and peripheral line management, phlebotomy
• Management of heparin, insulin protocols, PCA pumps and blood products
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen therapy
• Wound care including Wound Vac, flaps and leech therapy awareness
• GI care: feeding tube and colostomy management, bowel obstruction recognition
• Renal care: Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care
• Surgical drain management and post-operative vascular/general surgery patient care
• Isolation precautions and infection prevention practices
