Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients, advocating for both child and family needs
• Manage a patient load consistent with a 1:3 ratio while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications and treatments, and monitor clinical status
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members including respiratory and IV therapists
• Document care accurately in the electronic record, with preference for Meditech Expanse experience
• Float to adult Medical-Surgical or Postpartum units as patient needs require, adapting quickly and competently
• Participate in required orientation and unit-specific training to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
• Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) uploaded with traveler profile (agency requirement)
• Minimum 3 years of current pediatric nursing experience
• Active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• Pediatric and Medical-Surgical skills checklists current within 1 year (required documents)
• Own reliable vehicle for this assignment
• Permanent address included in profile
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and intervention skills
• Experience managing a small pediatric unit with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Comfort with family-centered care and rooming-in practices
• Ability to float to adult Med/Surg and Postpartum settings as needed
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EMR systems
• Effective communication and teamwork in a tight-knit unit
• Basic emergency response and pediatric resuscitation skills
