Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Support a clean, comfortable environment by helping with basic room care and infection control practices
• Document care given accurately and timely in the resident chart
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA or T-CNA certification (required)
• Active or eligible West Virginia CNA listing (or ability to transfer/obtain) preferred
• Minimum comfort and competence working 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (e.g., TB screening, flu as required)
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
• Basic infection control procedures and safe patient handling
• Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, and team members
• Reliable documentation and time management skills
• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
