Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough, compassionate stepdown care by assessing and monitoring patients on telemetry
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes using ACLS and rhythm expertise
• Apply NIHSS and other stroke-related assessments to support timely, evidence-based interventions
• Administer medications safely and accurately while documenting according to facility standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans to improve outcomes
• Maintain required competencies, certifications, and documentation to ensure excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (state licensure must be in good standing)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification and experience with stroke assessments preferred
• DCI/BVP competency as listed in the job checklist
• Completed Prime competency exams and skills checklist (Pharmacology, Rhythm Interpretation, Core Competencies, Specialty Exam)
• Ability to pass background check, 10-panel drug screening, fit test, and required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB, Varicella, Tdap)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Stepdown-level patient assessment and critical thinking
• Stroke care principles and NIHSS application
• Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Proficient charting and documentation in electronic health records
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
