Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents with respect and dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through proper transfer techniques and assistance
• Document care activities accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent state certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Ability to pass background checks and any required facility screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and elder needs
• Skill in safe resident handling, transfers, and fall prevention
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team
• Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
