Roles & Responsibilities

• Sign out surgical pathology and cytopathology cases accurately and efficiently
• Interpret and report diagnostic pathology specimens using Cerner LIS / CoPath
• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide timely, consultative pathology input
• Participate in department quality assurance and case review activities
• Maintain thorough, clear documentation and ensure compliance with facility protocols
• Support laboratory workflows and mentor/support histology and cytology staff
• Communicate effectively with clinicians about case findings and recommendations

Qualifications

• MD or DO (required) with active medical license or ability to obtain WA licensure in a timely manner
• Board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology (AP); cytopathology fellowship or equivalent experience preferred
• Proven experience in surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out
• Familiarity with pathology information systems, specifically Cerner LIS / CoPath
• Willingness to complete credentialing process (~3 months) and follow facility travel policies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Residency in Anatomic Pathology
• Cytopathology fellowship preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in surgical pathology and cytopathology case diagnosis
• Experience with pathology sign-out workflows and reporting standards
• Proficiency with Cerner LIS and CoPath pathology information systems
• Excellent diagnostic reasoning and attention to detail
• Ability to manage a daily case volume (~20-30 pathology cases per day)
• Familiarity with credentialing and travel policy compliance
