Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment plans for patients in a rehabilitation setting
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve patients' functional independence and quality of life
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient progress, goals, and discharge plans accurately and in a timely manner
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs and adaptive strategies
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive clinical environment
Qualifications
- Current state license as an Occupational Therapist (DE or compact/state appropriate) required
- Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or entry-level OTD preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or obtain upon hire)
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehab, or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning and excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field acceptable if followed by accredited OT graduate program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL and IADL assessments and interventions
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, orthotics, and durable medical equipment recommendations
- Experience with mobility training, transfer techniques, and safe equipment use
- Ability to develop functional treatment plans and measurable goals
- Competence in electronic medical records and professional documentation
- Strong time management, organization, and patient education skills
