Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed PT to help patients regain mobility and function
• Deliver compassionate one-on-one care and educate patients and families on home programs
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create and adjust treatment plans
• Assist with safe transfers, gait training, and therapeutic modalities as appropriate
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing with the state of Virginia
• Completion of an accredited PTA program (associate degree or equivalent)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
• Active immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening per facility policy
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in outpatient or post-acute rehab settings preferred

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and transfers
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and EMR systems
• Ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and therapist direction
• Good time management and prioritization in a fast-paced rehab environment
• Comfort collaborating with nurses, case managers, and families
