Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately and safely for residents per facility policy
• Provide compassionate overnight resident care, monitoring well-being and comfort
• Document resident status, medication administration, and any incidents clearly
• Observe and report changes in condition to nursing leadership and care team
• Support residents with activities of daily living during overnight hours as needed
• Collaborate with CNAs, RNs, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to resident needs and emergent situations with calm, timely action

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York (or ability to obtain)
• Previous experience in medication administration and overnight resident care preferred
• Comfortable working in memory care or dementia-focused settings
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to shift start)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate charting
• Dementia-aware care techniques and de-escalation strategies
• Basic assessment skills: vitals, skin checks, recognizing change in condition
• Time management and prioritization during overnight coverage
• Team communication and clear handoff reporting
• Infection control and safe handling practices
