Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
• Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team to ensure timely care decisions.
• Assist with safe transfers and toileting, using proper body mechanics and lift equipment when needed.
• Support mealtime assistance and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and their families.
• Help create warm, person-centered moments that preserve dignity and quality of life for geriatric residents.

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New York required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and long-term care residents.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; a positive, patient-first attitude.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements.
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is preferred but not mandatory — we welcome dedicated newcomers.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and infection prevention practices.
• Familiarity with basic vital sign monitoring and documentation.
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate observations clearly.
• Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with residents and families.
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts.
