Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry and interpret EKGs as needed to detect cardiac changes early
• Perform procedures such as wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt), CBI, and Foley insertions
• Manage central line dressing changes and maintain sterile technique
• Document accurately and timely using Meditech Expanse to support safe handoffs
• Participate in bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and meaningful patient connections
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and float to same level of care when required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• IV certification required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse is a plus
• Comfort performing unit procedures listed such as wound care, drain management, CBI, Foley insertion, and central line dressing changes

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Wound care and drain management (including chest tubes and JP drains)
• Competence with CBI and Foley insertion management
• Central line care and dressing changes
• Strong documentation skills in Meditech Expanse
• Effective bedside communication and hourly safety rounding
• Ability to work with patient ratios around 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge
