Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and assist with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, ambulation and positioning
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition
- Perform timely and accurate documentation using facility forms and checklists
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies
- Complete required skills checklist (Trinity Skills Checklist) and participate in competency validation
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain professional appearance, certifications, and required health screenings
Qualifications
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and license/certificate verification
- Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, respirator evaluation, Trinity 10-panel drug screen
- Up-to-date immunizations or verification: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Influenza, and 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon)
- Physical/health statement demonstrating ability to perform job duties
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a per diem pool
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and bedside skills, including ADLs and hygiene assistance
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, specimen collection support, documentation
- Infection prevention and proper PPE use (including respirator competence)
- Good communication, teamwork, and ability to follow care plans
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and clinical units
