Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to assigned patients as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility policy and scope of practice
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document clinical findings accurately
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care plans
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with required health screenings and immunizations
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and demonstrate ongoing proficiency
- Communicate clearly with patients and families to educate, reassure, and advocate for patient needs
- Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate, timely charting for continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) in good standing; Michigan license preferred or eligible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Successful completion of License/Certificate Verification and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
- Must be able to complete required health clearance items: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, influenza and COVID-19 vaccination documentation, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
- Negative Trinity 10-panel drug screen and completed physical/health statement
- Color vision testing and Trinity respirator evaluation as required
- Reliable, professional, and able to adapt to different facility workflows and patient populations
Education
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and current LPN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals in direct patient care and medication administration
- Solid infection prevention practices and immunization compliance
- Clear clinical documentation and effective communication with the care team
- Ability to follow facility protocols and Trinity competency standards
- Comfort working independently on per diem assignments and adjusting to new units quickly
- Good observational skills and ability to escalate changes in patient condition promptly
