Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient follow-up care for adult and geriatric solid tumor oncology patients
• Assess and manage symptoms for patients on active treatment and in survivorship
• Support infusion nursing staff with chemotherapy/infusion-related care and symptom triage
• Perform patient evaluation and assessment, and document thoroughly in Epic/Beacon
• Collaborate closely with supervising medical and radiation oncologists for care plans
• Participate in call coverage as scheduled, focusing on critical lab calls and symptomatic patients
• Contribute to a positive clinic atmosphere and help streamline patient flow (10–12 patients/day typical)

Qualifications

• Active NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician Assistant) license in the appropriate state or ability to obtain state licensure
• Experience in medical oncology and infusion/chemotherapy support required
• Familiarity with Epic and Beacon documentation systems
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric populations
• Ability to work collaboratively under onsite supervising physicians (not autonomous)
• Strong clinical assessment, symptom management and communication skills
• Ability to complete credentialing (estimated 3–4 weeks) and comply with facility policies

Education

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA); relevant graduate education or certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Outpatient oncology care with a focus on solid tumors
• Infusion/chemotherapy support and familiarity with Beacon
• Epic EMR documentation best practices
• Symptom management and triage
• Patient evaluation and clinical assessment
• Team-based collaborative practice and clear communication
• Understanding of outpatient clinic workflows and infusion center operations
