Vascular Surgeon
Location: Findlay, OH
Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Monday-Friday: 2 clinic days and 3 procedural/surgical days per week (exact daily start/end times vary by case and departmental schedule); 10 night/weekend on-call shifts per month (night/weekend call), shared call with a PRN vascular surgeon, a vascular surgery APP, and an OSU vascular surgeon (phone support).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and growth of a community-based vascular surgery program in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- Provide advanced vascular surgical care, performing both open and endovascular procedures across a wide case mix including aneurysmal disease, carotid disease, hemodialysis access, peripheral vascular disease, and limb salvage
- Manage vascular conditions non-surgically with medical therapy, lifestyle counseling, and minimally invasive interventions
- Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, medical students, residents, fellows, nursing staff, and allied health professionals
- Share on-call responsibilities, coordinating night/weekend coverage with PRN and OSU partners to ensure responsive patient care
- Participate in recruiting additional vascular team members and in the planned transition to a hybrid operating room
- Maintain strong, timely communication with referring physicians and contribute to institutional service activities
- Serve as a clinical educator and preceptor, delivering high-quality teaching and mentorship
Qualifications
- Physician specializing in vascular surgery (Vascular Surgeon)
- Clinical faculty appointment eligible (Assistant or Associate Professor) with interest in 100% clinical role
- Demonstrated experience with both open and endovascular vascular procedures and broad vascular disease management
- Comfort supervising and mentoring advanced practice providers and trainees
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and participate in program development
Education
- Medical degree and completion of vascular surgery training (appropriate postgraduate surgical training)
- Clinical faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor) offered through The Ohio State University
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in vascular surgery techniques including open and endovascular procedures
- Experience with abdominal and thoracic aneurysm repair, carotid artery disease management, hemodialysis access, peripheral vascular disease, and limb salvage
- Skill in medical management of vascular disease and non-surgical interventions
- Ability to lead clinic and procedural workflows and supervise APPs
- Strong communication skills for patient counseling and referring physician engagement
- Teaching and precepting skills for trainees and allied health professionals
- Program development, recruitment, and leadership experience or interest
