Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide OB triage, assess admissions and manage inpatient obstetric care with skill and compassion
- Perform deliveries and obstetric procedures while ensuring safety and quality outcomes
- Respond to and manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies, including ED consults
- Collaborate closely with community OBs, family practice physicians and subspecialists to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in multidisciplinary OB critical care practices and quality improvement initiatives
- Communicate clearly and promptly with office physicians about triage visits, new issues and deliveries
- Contribute to a cohesive, team-based approach that improves patient experience and clinical outcomes
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of an OB/GYN residency (no new graduates; clinical experience required)
- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology preferred
- Active or eligible for an Ohio medical license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; OB-specific certifications or training a plus
- Proven experience in obstetrics, inpatient care, labor & delivery and OB triage
- Comfortable working 24-hour shifts and participating in emergency coverage
- US work authorization required (position is not accepting visa candidates)
Education
- MD or DO; completion of OB/GYN residency required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge in obstetrics, gynecology and labor & delivery management
- Experience with OB triage workflows and inpatient OB admissions
- Ability to manage OB/GYN patients in the emergency department setting
- Excellent clinical communication and real-time coordination with office physicians
- Team collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary care teams
- Commitment to best practices that ensure continuity, quality and patient safety
