Shift Type: Rotating schedule with a combination of 8-hour and 24-hour in-house shifts on a 7-week rotation; in-house call plus backup call from home; approximately 170 hours/month for a 1.0 FTE (coverage shared across the 5-physician group).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate neonatal care in a Level-III, 36-bed NICU
- Manage advanced respiratory support including high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide
- Lead therapeutic hypothermia (total body cooling) protocols for eligible newborns
- Use and interpret aEEG to monitor and guide neonatal neurologic care
- Deliver in-house clinical coverage and participate in backup call from home
- Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists (Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, Endocrinology) to coordinate complex care
- Contribute to quality initiatives and maintain high standards consistent with The Joint Commission disease-specific certification
- Support and mentor NICU staff and trainees, helping build a strong, cohesive team
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Neonatology (BC/BE Neonatologist) — open to new fellowship graduates who are already BC in Pediatrics
- Comfort and experience working in a Level-III NICU environment with a higher-acuity census
- Demonstrated ability to provide in-house coverage and participate in 24-hour shifts as part of a rotating schedule
- Experience with high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and aEEG
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
- J-1 and H-1B visa candidates are considered; locum tenens candidates are not accepted
Education
- MD or DO (or equivalent) with completion of Neonatology fellowship or BC in Pediatrics for eligible new fellows
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatology and NICU (Level-III) clinical expertise
- Management of high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide
- Therapeutic hypothermia (total body cooling) protocols
- Use and interpretation of aEEG monitoring
- Ability to manage in-house and backup call responsibilities
- Experience working with pediatric subspecialty teams to coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Comfort in a higher-volume NICU (average daily census and prolonged length of stay)
