Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality outpatient gastroenterology care and manage internal medicine concerns for your panel
• Perform endoscopic procedures during blocked OR/procedure time with attention to patient safety and outcomes
• See a high volume of patients daily (expectation: 15–20 patients per day) while maintaining clinical quality
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in the integrated EPIC electronic medical record
• Collaborate with your physician partner(s), advanced practice providers, and referring primary care clinicians
• Coordinate care using onsite lab and X-ray services to streamline diagnosis and follow-up
• Participate in the multi-specialty employed group to support patient referrals and community health needs
• Contribute to a positive patient experience and the hospital’s quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Specialty experience in Gastroenterology (outpatient focus) with demonstrated endoscopy skills
• Comfort and experience working in a high-volume clinic environment
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR or similar electronic health records
• Experience collaborating in a small group practice and supervising/supporting advanced practice providers
• Familiarity with OR/procedure workflows and onsite diagnostic services (lab/X-ray)
• Willingness to live within a 40-mile radius of Ashtabula or to relocate as required
• Open to H-1B and J-1 visa candidates (visa sponsorship openness stated)
• Locum tenens submissions are not being accepted for this role

Education

• Physician-level training in gastroenterology (physician specialty required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Gastroenterology clinical management and endoscopy
• Outpatient care workflows and high-volume clinic efficiency
• EPIC electronic medical record proficiency
• Internal medicine knowledge to support complex ambulatory patients
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small physician group and with advanced practice providers
• Familiarity with OR scheduling and procedural coordination
• Use of onsite diagnostic services (lab and X-ray) to streamline patient care
• Strong documentation, communication, and patient-centered skills
