Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver age-specific, direct patient care in the PACU using the Nursing Process
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor recovery after procedures
• Implement department standards of patient care and specialty-specific protocols
• Lead and coordinate patient care activities, delegating tasks to appropriate team members
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
• Communicate clearly with surgical teams, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe handoffs
• Participate in clinical orientation and ongoing competency development

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• PACU experience or relevant perioperative/recovery room experience preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS required prior to contract start
• PALS or ENPC also required (or completion course booked at time of clinical orientation if not active)
• Ability to follow department standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and strong patient assessment skills
• Solid understanding and application of the Nursing Process
• Leadership and delegation in a clinical setting
• Familiarity with PACU workflows and specialty-specific standards
• Regulatory compliance knowledge and attention to detail
