Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7 on/7 off, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night) — shift changes at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct and indirect patient care across the med-surg population, from post-partum neonates to geriatrics
- Assess and monitor patients with varying acuities, responding quickly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately in the medical record
- Implement infection control and patient safety best practices on every shift
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a high standard of clinical care
- Cross-train in Emergency Department and PACU as opportunities arise to broaden skills and coverage
- Mentor and support colleagues by sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative environment
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Utah RN license or compact state RN license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Preferred: 1–2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS current or ability to obtain within one year
- Willingness to earn NRP certification and provide care appropriate to that certification within one year
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Dependable, flexible, emotionally mature, and able to manage stressful situations calmly
- Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills and ability to protect patient confidentiality
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Infection control principles and patient safety techniques
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making in rapidly changing situations
- Experience with medical-surgical patient care, including high-acuity and rehabilitative needs
- Comfort caring for a wide age range from neonates to seniors
- Familiarity with infusion therapy, wound care, and postpartum care (or interest to cross-train)
- Clear, professional communication and excellent customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a rural care team
