Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory assays across clinical lab sections to produce accurate diagnostic data
• Operate, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on lab instruments and equipment
• Analyze specimens using microscopy, clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, and bacteriology techniques
• Document results precisely, troubleshoot unexpected findings, and escalate critical values per protocol
• Maintain quality control and adhere to laboratory safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with clinicians and the care team to ensure timely, patient-centered laboratory services
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting workflow or process enhancements

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (required)
• ASCP Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (required)
• Successful completion of a supervised one-year clinical internship (required)
• Experience with EPIC is preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Must be medically fit to safely function at high elevation (approximately 8,000 ft)
• Comfortable working night shifts and following rotating schedules

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in microscopy and specimen examination
• Skilled in clinical chemistry assays and instrumentation
• Experienced in hematology techniques and result interpretation
• Familiar with immunology and bacteriology testing methods
• Competent in instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, and equipment operation
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and quality-control skills
• Ability to use laboratory information systems and basic familiarity with EPIC preferred
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
